Plaster Reconstruction 2
Ed (muddy) has been ask to disclose his "secret" mud mixes that he uses to a California Magizine along with photos and a article of his process from a plaster reconstruction flip house in Montezuma, Ia. This article as of 7/4/09 is still in the works. Muddy's secret mix is 2 different types of dry mud mixes with silica sand and jet dry, thats all he will spit out at this time, but the base coat mix is very hard and durable.

To begin with we will start to skim the entire surface with a plaster (secret mix) like mud, followed by skim coats will be with a mud that is more workable.  Some areas may take 2-4 coats which will be getting thinner and tighter with each skim coat.  This all depends on the scope of the repairs as too how many coats will be applied.

After all of this, if the tight skim pulls are not glass rod smooth, we will begin to apply water to the areas and trowel to a smooth finish or vacuum sand and apply textures to the surfaces.  If desired, we can texture to match existing or texture the whole surface for a beautiful new surface(s).

Lastly, we will inspect every inch of the reconstruction and start to remove all of the protective base, casing and floor covering.  We will also clean the room, which will probably be cleaner when we leave than when we started.

After all of our work is completed all the homeowner has to do is use a good quality primer & paint to their desired color.

Historically our call back rate is very low.  If something does happen to pop up, we would be glad to come back ASAP to make it right at no expense to you the consumer.
